Significant Battles of World War 2
Features concise summaries of many of the major battles of World War 2, from the invasion of Poland to the German surrender in Europe.  Includes the Pacific theatre in a separate section, plus a discussion of the causes and consequences of the war.  Links to related sites.

Forgotten battles of the Second World War      
Features some of the more obscure battles of World War 2, plus the people and animals involved.  Navigation categories include: The men, The weapons, and The battles.  Links to related sites.

The North African Campaign of World War 2
Provides extensive coverage of World War 2 as it was fought in North Africa.  Includes an examination of the weapons, the commanders, supply problems, etc.  Links to related sites.

WWII - Battle of the Atlantic  (Mariners’ Museum)
Provides extensive information on the Battle of the Atlantic as fought during World War 2.  Includes information on the Enigma machine and the American capture of U-505.

The Battle of the Atlantic  (Veterans Affairs Canada)
Provides multimedia information on the Battle of the Atlantic during World War 2, focussing on Canadian involvement.  Includes a video clip, maps, facts, and first person accounts.

Attack at Pearl Harbor, 1941

Battle of Britain -1940

Operation Overlord: The Invasion of Fortress Europe
Provides extensive information on the preparations for, and implementation of, Operation Overlord which culminated during World War 2 on June 6, 1944 (D-Day).

D-Day History Revisited

Features online exhibits of the D-Day invasion of Normandy and Operation Overlord, as seen from an American perspective.  Includes information and links on World War 2 in general and the war in the Pacific, again from the American perspective.  Includes a minute by minute overview of June 6, 1944.  Includes educational resources for both students and teachers.

Normandy: The US Army Campaigns of World War 2
Provides a comprehensive text based description of the US Army involvement in Operation Overlord, the D-Day invasion of Normandy.  Includes a very few photographs and maps.
