Provides current events on human rights issues around the world. Can be accessed by country (Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe/Central Asia, Middle East/North Africa) or by specific global issue (arms control, children’s rights, women’s rights, refugees, international justice, prisons, etc.).
Amnesty International
Provides news and special reports on the activities of Amnesty International as they work to protect human rights around the world. The Library section has reports that can be accessed by country, by region, or by theme.
International Committee of the Red Cross
Provides access to many Red Cross documents and information in their humanitarian work in over 80 countries worldwide. Includes maps, facts, figures, reports, and news releases on the countries in which the Red Cross is active. Sorted by regions. Available in several languages.
Human Rights Web
Provides information about the history of human rights and how individuals can get involved in their promotion. The Resources page includes links to worldwide organizations promoting human rights. Includes a section on documents and on biographies of people who fought for human rights and against persecutions.

The People’s Movement for Human Rights Education
Provides discussions for 23 issues (e.g. aging, ethnicity, poverty, housing, migrant workers, refugees, etc.) and relates them to human rights learning for social and economic change.

Provides extensive information on the UN and its agencies, international law, peackeeping, human rights, economic and social development, etc. The site index is in alphabetical order and makes finding specific topics more efficient.
A Summary of the United Nations Agreements on Human Rights
Provides a summary with links to all the declarations and agreements on human rights sponsored by the United Nations. Includes the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Charter of the UN, the Convention on the rights of the child, and the Geneva Conventions.
Foreign Affairs Magazine
An online magazine that provides articles on a variety of foreign affairs topics and world wide issues.
