This is a gateway site to more than 10,000 links to French resources on the web for both students and teachers. The resources are categorized: books & literature; art, music, film, & general culture; history of France & French speaking world; virtual francophone tourism; French language; Press, radio, TV, telephone; Education in French speaking schools; French across the curriculum and in everyday life. Some articles are in French while others are in English.
The French Connection
Provides a collection of links to places and items of interest with a French theme. Designed for students of French and francophiles in general. Topics include: French government, Paris, Arts & sciences, Traveling in France, French cuisine, Tour de France, etc. Links to other related gateway sites. Some sites are in the French language and others in English.

This site "promotes the best of French arts, literature, and education to cultural and academic institutions across the United States, with a strong focus on the contemporary." Présidence de la République
Official website for the president of France. Provides biographical material and speeches and documents from the current president, a picture gallery of presidents back to the Second Republic (1848), and a history of the president's Elysée Palace and other presidential residences. Also includes background about symbols of the republic, such as the French flag and Marianne (allegorical figure of liberty and the republic), and links to related sites. Balzac's Paris: A Guided Tour
This site provides a virtual "promenade through the monumental heart of Paris in the time of Balzac, as described through some of his works, and as documented in maps and engravings of The Vernon Duke Collection Special Collections Department" at the University of California, Riverside. Also includes a brief biography of French novelist Honoré de Balzac (1799-1850) and a bibliography. (LII, 2007)
Normandie: Welcome to Normandy
Tourist website for this area in western France that includes the D-Day invasion sites. Features an interactive map with city descriptions, information about lodging and dining, and links to material about places to visit, including museums, churches, chateaux, parks and gardens, and D-Day landing beaches and cemeteries.
