U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: The Endangered Species Program

Fisheries Agency Lists Puget Sound Killer Whales as Endangered

November 2005 announcement by the NOAA Fisheries Service that a "group of killer whales that visits Washington state's Puget Sound every summer has been listed as an endangered species under the federal Endangered Species Act." Includes links to more detailed information about the killer whales (orcas), which are officially known as Southern Resident killer whales.
