Inservice and Training

In District Training

One of the most important roles of the Outreach Team is providing inservice and training regarding various aspects of deafblindness to school-based teams in their own Districts. This service is provided without cost to the District (except for any costs incurred for release time for staff) and allows as many people as possible to attend and gain a better understanding of deafblindness. The inservices are tailored to the specific needs of the child and the District. Each inservice is unique and based on the unfolding nature of the learning process for each child. This format allows the whole team to come together and apply the topics discussed in the inservice to the student’s program immediately. It also fosters communication within the team. An inservice schedule is arranged with the District based on their needs and the time available.
