Functional Aspects of the Eye and the Ear (15 hours)

Home Study - 15 Hour Course

Course Content

This coursewill look at the various etiologies of deafblindness, with a focus on the functional aspects of vision and hearing. The impact of losses in these areaswill be discussed along with strategies to encourage learners withdeafblindness to learn to effectively use whatever vision and hearing they dohave.

Sensory Perspectives DVD (2003)Required for Home Study - Purchased through POPDB at time ofregistration for $60.00

Instructional Methods

This course is offered through home study through DVD, and prerecorded lectures.

Prerequisites: Introduction to Deafblindness

Dates & Times:           
This course is done through home study. You will receive a set of DVD’s about Visual Impairments, Auditory Impairments, and the Brain, along with the Sensory Perspectives DVD. All DVD’s are covered by the $60.00 fee.

You will have 5 weeks to complete the home study section and assignments, which are due by Feb.27, 2012.

Fees:  $140.00 + $60.00 for DVD’s
